Petronas motorcycle oils now available online on Shopee

Petronas Lubricants International (PLI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia’s Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas), has introduced the Petronas Sprinta lubricant range on Petronas Mesra Official Shop on Shopee, one of Southeast Asia’s and Taiwan’s leading digital marketplace.

Ikhwan Hamzah Azizan, head of PLI in Asia Pacific, said this marked the e-commerce debut for Petronas’ lubricant range and the launch on Shopee was part of a larger effort by the company to ramp up sales of its lubricant products through a convenient platform. 

“Today, there are 16.5 million online shoppers in Malaysia, with an increasing demand for a richer experience and greater convenience.

“We want to capture the growing online customer demand, especially those with limited access to conventional workshops or retail stations to ensure our products are easily accessible nationwide,” he said.

In addition, PLI in collaboration with Grab Malaysia is offering eligible Grab delivery partners exclusive 99% discount vouchers for the purchase of Petronas Sprinta lubricants on Petronas Mesra’s Official Shop. 

The discount vouchers, worth MYR70,000 (USD16,171), are limited to 2,000 bottles for purchase between May 12 and May 25, 2020.

Ikhwan Hamzah said this initiative was in line with PLI’s efforts to help ease the burden of those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic globally. 

“During the movement control order period, these Grab delivery partners are unsung heroes who braved the streets to fulfil deliveries to Malaysians at home.

“This is just our small way of showing support and appreciation for their sacrifices and contributions,” he said, adding future plans are currently underway for the introduction of other lubricants, including Petronas Syntium automotive engine oil to meet the needs of Malaysian motorists.

The Petronas Sprinta lubricant range online includes Petronas Sprinta F900, F700, F300, A700 and T500, priced between MYR17 (USD3.9) and MYR64 (USD14.8) to cater to the 4T, 2T and scooter bike market segments.
