Bangchak to buy used vegetable oil

Thailand’s Bangchak Petroleum Plc has launched a project to buy used vegetable oil from consumers to produce biodiesel. Bangchak is constructing a biodiesel plant with a capacity of 20,000 liters per day. The plant will be completed in November. Five Bangchak petrol stations in Bangkok will initially buy used vegetable oil from consumers at 12 baht (US$0.32) per kilogram. (September 4, 2006)
