GM Brazil executive says Indonesia could be next potential market for ethanol-fueled cars

“Indonesia can become the next potential market for ethanol-fueled vehicles like Brazil which promoted the use of ethanol-blended fuel,” said William Bertagni, the executive director of GM Brazil. In an interview with the Jakarta Globe, Bertagni said that one factor that can support the production of ethanol domestically is a government regulation making it mandatory to ensure nationwide availability of ethanol.
According to the GM executive, Indonesia’s infrastructure is adequate and would effectively support the distribution of ethanol. Bertagni also expressed a keen desire to develop the flex-fuel car industry in the country, including the production and marketing of the vehicle in Indonesia. (October 29, 2012)
