Huntsman to acquire Laffans’ chemical business

U.S. chemical giant Huntsman Corp. has announced the acquisition of the chemicals business of Ankleshwar, Gujarat, India-based Laffans Petrochemicals Ltd. Laffans manufactures amines used in some detergents, automobile waxes, personal care products and surfactants. The Laffans business has annual sales of about US$45 million. Huntsman expects the acquisition to be completed in the first half of 2011. It did not disclose the financial terms of the acquisition. This will be Huntsman’s second acquisition in Gujarat in two years. (August 4, 2010)
