PTT to get subsidy for NGV sales

Thailand’s National Energy Policy Committee (NEPC) has agreed to give PTT a subsidy of 2 baht (US$0.06) per kilogram for its sales of NGV or natural gas for vehicles, providing some respite to the energy company which last year lost 8 billion baht (US$244.41) from selling NGV below cost. This is the first time that the government has agreed to give PTT a subsidy for its NGV sales. However, despite the subsidy, PTT will still incur a loss of around 4 baht (US$0.12) per kg, as the market price of NGV should be around 14.50 baht (US$0.44) per kg, a PTT official said.
