Shell to build lubricant complex in Russia

The Royal Dutch Shell, a U.K. –registered petroleum company, said it plans to launch a lubricant complex in Torzhok, a town in Tver Oblast in Russia. Construction will begin by the end of 2011 and the projected capacity of the lubricant complex will be 200 million liters per year. However, actual production will depend on market demand, according to William Kozik, general director of Shell’s unit in Russia, Shell Neft. Kozik said that the complex will help the company strengthen its position in the market. Royal Dutch Shell currently has an estimated 20% share of the imported lubricant market. (October 13, 2011)
