Thailand targets 500,000 liters per day of biodiesel
Thailand’s Energy Ministry aims to boost consumption of biodiesel in 2007 to 500,000 liters per day, Minister Piyasvasti Amranand said. PTT Pcl will establish more than 300 service stations to sell biodiesel blends throughout the country. By the end of 2011, the ministry has set a target to increase biodiesel demand at four million liters per day. A new pricing formula for biodiesel feedstock from palm oil is to be set jointly by the Energy Ministry, oil companies and biodiesel producers, Piyavasti said. (January 31, 2007)
