Tiger Ethanol acquires stake in Chinese ethanol producer

Montreal, Canada-based Tiger Ethanol International has acquired a 90% stake in a joint venture to manufacture fuel ethanol from corn in China. The JV with Chinese partners has received the approval from the Hami District Development Planning Commission to build a 20,000-ton-per-year ethanol plant with a by-product of 18,500 tons of animal feed in August. The incorporated name of the plant is Xinjiang Yajia Distillery, Co. Ltd. (December 8, 2006)
