Vietnam to implement new laws for petrol merchants

Merchants who provide petrol to manufacturers in Vietnam’s open economic and cross-border industrial zones will temporarily be subject to import and re-export laws. The Ministry of Finance said that the temporary procedures will take effect on October 21. The temporary procedures include:

  • Licensed traders and producers will be required to follow General Department of Customs procedures
  • Temporarily imported fuel will be available on the domestic market but will require the payment of the full import tax.
  • Traders involved in the exportation of jet fuel must submit registered customs declaration and stock issued dockets,
  • For international flights that use domestic routes, invoices and copies of gasoline quantums must be provided.
