Pertamina ties up with mobile app to deliver fuels and lubricants
Indonesia’s state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina has signed an agreement with an e-commerce app-based motorcycle taxi company, Go-Jek Indonesia.
Ahmad Bambang, Pertamina’s marketing director, said the company’s Pertamax gasoline and Dex diesel will be available for sale through Go-Jek, as well as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) canisters and lubricants.
Go-Jek’s growing popularity is built on the apps’ capability to book a motorcycle for commuters, but it goes even further. Customers can also use the app to get groceries or food delivered to their doorsteps. Neither party has indicated when the service will be available.
In a separate deal, Pertamina has signed an agreement with coal miner PT Adaro Energy Tbk to supply up to 550 million liters of diesel fuel. The agreement was a follow-up of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the two companies in May, in which Pertamina agreed to supply up to 800 million liters of diesel fuel a year to Adaro until 2025. The deal is valued at USD 340 million per year, Adaro President Director Garibaldi Thohir said.
The supply deal will start from November 2015 through October 2022.
