JX to start selling ETBE-blended gasoline in Kyushu

Japan’s largest refiner, JX Nippon Oil & Energy, said it will start selling ETBE-blended gasoline at its service stations in Kyushu, southwestern Japan, on September 1. JX Nippon Oil & Energy plans to start selling the ETBE-blended gasoline at 195 service stations in Kyushu after it installed a blender at its 160,000 barrel-per-day Oita refinery, a company official said. Currently, the company sells the product at roughly 1,100 service stations in the greater Tokyo area, and it plans to boost the number to around 2,000 by the end of March 2011. (August 26, 2010)
