Castrol and the Volvo Car Group announced the renewal of their global partnership, which covers engine oils, gear oils and greases in all new vehicles in Volvo’s global manufacturing facilities. The agreement will also see the supply of lubricants to Volvo dealers across the globe.
The partnership will see the two companies work together on improving fuel efficiency, enabling engines to manage variations in fuel quality in different parts of the world, and the implications of future mobility trends. Castrol’s scientists and Volvo’s engineers worked closely on the development of Volvo’s latest Drive–E engines to create bespoke engine oils, which contribute to the fuel efficiency gains Volvo is seeing in its latest lineup of hybrid, petrol and diesel powertrains.
“We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Volvo Car Group, which is now in its 16th year. We share many common objectives and this agreement will allow us to jointly deliver technological innovation and real benefits to Volvo dealers and customers,” said Danny Carlisle, Castrol’s vice president of strategic co-operation, Global Accounts.
“We are very satisfied with the dedication, innovative spirit, engineering excellence and comprehensive support of the Castrol team, and I look forward to our continued collaboration over the coming years,” said Martin Persson, vice president, Volvo Car Global Customer Service.
