50 algae industry experts to visit the newly expanded Ecoduna plant:

During the afternoon of Tuesday 24th April, a prior to the conference, a limited number of conference delegates will receive the unique opportunity to Ecoduna’s “Hanging Gardens” Plant.

Ecoduna is a young SME founded in 2010 using proprietary photobioreactor(PBR) technology for microalgae biomass production. With the currently 21 employees, and its patented technology of vertically flowing PBRs (i.e. hanging gardens) ecoduna produces biomass of various algae species of high quality. Based in Austria, ecoduna is growing algae strains all year round in the demonstration plant with the goal to produce biomass for omega3 algae oil extraction. In 2017 the technology is taken to industrial scale with the construction of a 1ha production facility. During the site visit, both locations, the demonstration plant with the R&D set up as well as the industrial production site will be visited.
